POPPONGENE SIGNS TO OUR GOLDEN FRIEND, PREMIERES NEW SINGLE 'DO IT GIRL' OUT NOW

Melbourne independent record label Our Golden Friend are increbily excited to introduce you to their second label signing and newest member of the Our Golden Friend family POPPONGENE. 

POPPONGENE is the solo project of Melbourne based musician and artist Sophie Treloar, who also plays in Melbourne dream-pop outfit Sunbeam Sound Machine. Hailing from the beaches of Byron Bay and now residing in the the rainforest lined hills of Belgrave, POPPONGENE is incredibly excited to share her first single 'Do It Girl', premiered last night on Melbourne Community radio station 3RRR by Simon Winkler on his Breaking & Entering program.

Described by Simon Winkler as an "absorbing psychedelic adventure" 'Do It Girl' is lifted from POPPONGENE's forthcoming EP (currently untitled) which will be released via Our Golden Friend later in 2016. The track was produced by Skube Burnell (808s and Greatest Hits), mixed by Simon Lam (Kllo, Ills & Nearly Oratorio) & mastered by Mikey Young (Eddy Current Surpression Ring, Total Control).

For the time being POPPONGENE will retreat to the hills that she calls home to finish the recording of her debut EP and plans to assemble a band to concur the task of performing her musical creations live on the stage for all to see. Watch this space, as this story is right at the very beginning.
