RVG ANNOUNCE ONE-OFF MELBOURNE HEADLINE SHOW AT THE CURTIN HOTEL SATURDAY JUNE 4
Melbourne's RVG are excited to announce a one-off small capacity Melbourne headline show at The Curtin Bandroom on Saturday June 4th. In February the iconic Melbourne venue announced that it's lease would be coming to an end in November 2022 and RVG will take this opportunity to send the venue off in style. The headline Melbourne show will be the last for the band for some time and will round out their Coastal New South Wales tour which starts this Thursday in Port Kembla and will follow their show at the Sydney Opera House as part of Vivid Live on Monday 30th May. Tickets for The Curtin show are on sale now and will sell out very quickly.
Following their sold out album launch at The Corner Hotel last year which saw them play one of the first shows sans capacity restrictions in Melbourne, RVG will present an intimate and electrifying set, in celebration and promotion of the fight to save The Curtin, its history and live music. Joined by Dark Water, this extra special show will be the last of the Feral era before the band head overseas and turn their attention to new music. More information on The Curtin can be found here and tickets to all shows are on sale here.
Released in April 2020 Feral was both a cry for help and call to action, resonating deeply with audiences, the album was nominated for five Music Victoria Awards, received Album of the Week on Double J, RRR, PBS, 2SER, 4ZZZ, SYN FM, Edge Radio, Radio Adelaide, The Music, Tone Deaf, was album of the day on Bandcamp and landed on a glut of end of year lists. Recorded at Head Gap studios with producer Victor Van Vugt (PJ Harvey, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Beth Orton), Feral was RVG’s first full-length release in three years, coming just as the world went into hibernation.
To Romy Vager, RVG’s lead singer and lyricist, to feel feral is to feel outside of everything. Throughout the album that feeling of isolation is incited, but it never feels hopeless: these songs channel the raw energy of despair and frustration into melodies that often feel victorious, perhaps only because they so aptly supply a soundtrack to the end of days.
RVG live is Romy Vager, Reuben Bloxham, Marc Nolte and Isabele Wallace.
